Get to know my story
Building, drawing, modelling, nailing, cutting, colouring and exploring, that was my world as a child. My anchor. All this spiced with the first Jack London books my father gave me and the films I absorbed, inspired me and turned the world into a destination to be discovered, a huge mystery full of magic and possibilities. The world was infinite!
I left home early. I travelled, studied and experienced life. I hadn't seen my family for a long time so I paid them a visit. My parents had started a cycle as craftsmen and were going to a very important fair. After an intense summer I decided to relax for a few days at their house. I went into my father's workshop and sat down. I looked at what was available and created three sculptures with different materials. And I left them in various places in the house.
The night they returned, I had been asleep for a couple of hours when my mother woke me up. She asked me about the sculptures, about who had made them, I explained what had happened and my mother was thrilled, she loved them. I didn't think much of it but the three sculptures were sold within a month. And so I began to create my own works. Later, I studied a sculpture module and took part in the family workshop.
My passion for creating, which made me so happy as a child, became my profession!
When I reached the age of thirty-two, I discovered that something was wrong with my body and my attention and the way I structured my day to day life. What for most people was easy and everyday required an enormous effort from me that often generated episodes of frustration and impotence. I spent some very difficult years understanding what was wrong with me and I had to learn certain techniques and exercises to learn how to generate stability and lead a normal life.
Above all, I had to accept myself as I am, learn to function differently and go at my own pace. But that was not going to cause me to give up my dreams and desires even if it was slower. Being different is not a problem, it is an opportunity to be original. And because creating is healing for me, I founded my own sculpture workshop and decided to fully devote myself to developing my creativity.
My work reflects the strengths and passion I have had to develop in myself, the emotions I have needed and the tons of love with which I have healed many wounds. I draw my inspiration from nature, the human and the divine. Of course in myths and mythology where I have found many clues.
But where I have found the most inspiration is in the expressions of Love, as the most powerful and transforming force in the universe, and of course all this seasoned with a touch of humour.
When I create a work I know that it is for someone special, one day that person and my work will meet and a love affair will occur and I will see them walk away together hand in hand. That is my task.
Maybe right now I am creating a work for you, I invite you to my home, my workshop, maybe something special is waiting for you, a work that will inspire you and accompany you on your journey. Come on in.
